While all In-Person programs have been placed on hold until November 29, 2020, SWESA is still offering Virtual Coffee and Chat, Mondays and Thursdays. To join in on the conversation, check out the weekly bulletin for more information.
Currently, SWESA is offering limited classes out of one location, the Blue Quill Community Hall. With significantly reduced class sizes participants are able to adhere to the physical-distancing requirements. Program and activity times have been adjusted to allow for time for proper cleaning and sanitization, and to allow extra time for participants to come and go with limited contact.

Historically, SWESA offers a wide variety of programs, including social activities, many types of physical fitness classes, art groups, information talks and workshops. There is something for everyone and many opportunities to try new things and meet new people.
Our programs are designed for seniors (aged 55+) and are open to anyone, although preference is given to SWESA members.
Programs are priced to be affordable. Members of SWESA may be charged a discounted price and be offered early registration.
SWESA is part of a reciprocal agreement with other seniors centres including:
Central Lions Seniors Association, Edmonton Seniors Centre, Jewish Senior Citizens’ Centre, Mill Woods Seniors Activity Centre, Minerva Senior Studies Institute, North Edmonton Seniors Association, North West Edmonton Seniors Society, Seniors Association of Greater Edmonton, South East Edmonton Seniors Association, Strathcona County Family and Community Services, Strathcona Place Senior Centre, Westend Seniors Activity Centre.
Members of these centres will receive the same price discount as SWESA members for instructional programs (e.g. workshops, choir, fitness programs). For all other programs, reciprocal members will pay non-member prices. Reciprocal members will be required to show proof of a valid membership in one of the centres listed above in order to receive member prices.
Our Program Guides are issued three times per year, covering January to April, May to August and September to December. Click here to display and download the last program guide that was interrupted by COVID-19 closures. We hope to work our way towards offering robust program guides again soon.
